Weather, nay lightning even, doesn't stop me from working in my garden. More often it's the heat that drives me indoors, or 1" hail as was the case this morning. June rain however is the BEST and I love to be out there getting my hands dirty.
I'm no so vain about my hands save when they look like they've worked a full day in the garden. I find it comforting and satisfying somehow, knowing my hands can do all that hard labor and still turn around and comfort a child who needs a snuggle. No one, kids nor plants alike, cares that they're not buffed and polished as long as they are kind and gentle.
