7 Days Spring 2011 Day 7 - Busy

Spent the last week getting things together for my yard sale. It pretty much wore me out with all the stooping in the attic and the billion trips up and down the extension ladder. Sold about 2/3 of everything today so this evening I'm adding more stuff to the sell pile. Can't have people come tomorrow and find only the leavings of a bargain-hungry mob, can I? And yes, I can live without the sequel to Madagascar with it's "I like 'em big. I like 'em chunky." song.

7 Days Spring 2011 Day 6 - Me

This is a drawing technique I learned in a community college drawing class whereby you look at your subject, not your drawing, and do a rough sketch without ever picking up your pencil. It is one continuous line and your eyes never touch the drawing. It was an exercise in following instructions, as I recall.

This is a drawing of me this morning.

7 Days Spring 2011 Day 4 - Peep

The neighbors must have had a good laugh watching me run out, squat, and run back in all those times. LOL

7 Days Spring 2011 Day 2 - Down

Truth is there's a lot to be down about these days. Unemployment and budgeting woes on the personal side. War and natural disasters on the flip. Here I am reading the headlines.

7 Days Spring 2011, Day 1 - Crosseyed

Tree stays decorated at least until the tulips bloom, so... another month. Please excuse the fencing project in the background. Neighbor lady wants a gate between our yards. How can you say no to a great grandma?

Henna Tattoo

Rhetta received a henna tattoo kit as a gift recently so we saved it for a Saturday. I, uh, read the directions wrong so we only let it sit for two hours instead of six hours before applying, but she loves it so I'm happy too.

I should note that this is the most still Rhetta has ever been in her life except when she's sleeping. It took so long that when I asked her if she wanted me to do the other hand she flat out said nope!

She said at first that she wanted to write her name and the name of her true love. That prompted a talk about how you should only ever get tattoos of names of your children even if it is temporary. I'm not sure how much she really understood but when it came time to do the henna she requested a fairy.
