Street Dance
Here's a video of the kids at a street dance (6-15-12) with the music of Durango Orquesta de Salsa. A band made up of Fort Lewis College graduates.
This band was HOT! They played salsa and funk and jazz. The dance was to benefit the Center for Spiritual Living, a local center some friends of ours belong to, including Rhetta's music teacher (in the green shirt) and his wife (in the purple dress). The bass player is the son of an employee at the Center, and they were gratiously playing for donations to pay for their gas.
Their songs were intense and LONG. I danced one whole song with Sis and it lasted like 10 minutes. For an old, out of shape lady like me that was a workout! Not to mention she had her own dance routine that I was trying to follow. It included leaps and bounds and a full body wiggle. LOL And then I danced for another whole song!
So here it is. Rhetta is in the red capri pants, and Willon is in blue jeans and washed out black tee trying to snap his fingers in between boogies.

Love You, Daddy 2012
We spent our Father's Day all together in Telluride visiting out friend Sarah who was out from North Carolina, Rhetta's BFFE (best friend for EVAH!) Oh yeah! It was a lazy morning at home the way we all like it, then a gorgeous scenic drive up.
We lunched and played at the Imagination Station as usual. Here is Willon in his "cave tunnel".
Here's a shot of a snowfield Rhetta said looked like a bird on a branch. I tried very hard to get it from her perspective, and I do see the bird on a branch!
Here are the ladies getting along like sisters.
We checked out Sarah's camp and met her fellow campers where they're hanging out getting ready for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2012. (I wish we could go!)
They were telling real groaner riddles and the kids would laugh, but then they started trying to make up their own. The winner was one of Willon's riddles:
"Why did the dog carry the chair across the road to the police station? Because he had invisible legs!" Of course. Duh!
Then we took a walk over to the gondolas and road up and down and across, bought some cold grapes to snack on, then road all the way back. The Triceratops came along for the ride (one of Sarah's things - photographing the dinosaur enjoying the trip).
And our Daddy's Day picture. He didn't mind sharing his day with Sarah. We like to think that every day is Father's Day. He just enjoyed going to the mountains and being with all of us. ♥
Afterward we walked into town, checked out the Free Box - got some things, a bead store - that was way too expensive! then walked back to say our goodbyes. Sarah says we're one of her favorite families. Well I don't blame her! We're damn cool. ;) We think she's damn cool, too.

100 Years
Delta County Pubic Library is celebrating their 100th year this year. To kick off their summer reading program they had a carnival, a magician, and CAKE! I did not get a picture of the cake, but I did get some pictures of cute kids, Ann and Addie turning a hankie into a bird, and Rhetta petting Timothy B. You can read why his name is Timothy B. at the end of the post.
Trying the dunk tank. He totally got it right in the center but it didn't trip the "pretty sensitive" trigger. They wouldn't let them go up and punch it either! Kind of a rip for a dollar. I know, I know, but the kids had fun. They did! And they kept trying regardless.
What mugs, am I right?
Got cotton candy?
Pure happy.
Ann turning a hankie into a bird!
She thought he was very soft. ♥
The rabbit's real name was Timothy Bunny, but Ann said he prefers to be called Timothy B. She says he thinks he's a rap star. She told the kids, there's no way he can be a rap star. Why? Because he does Hip-Hop! Oh!
